Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana is hiring a Part-time Registered Nurse in our Baton Rouge office!
 
This position is responsible for providing quality nursing/medical oversight for direct support staff and individuals with intellectual disabilities who reside in our community homes.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Reviewing medical evaluations, results, and processing / implementing physician orders
• Consulting with medical professionals regarding prescriptions, physician orders, and labs
• Observing & consulting with staff regarding medical status of residents
• Reviewing medication administration and records
• Provide all aspects of program care functions, charting, and documentation.
• Provide Certified Medication Administration (CMA) trainings as needed by the program
• Provide medication administration training to residential new hires.
• Administer Medication & Injections as needed while managing Quick Mar and My Chart
• Serve on Inter-disciplinary Team and Human Rights Committee
• Maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
• Participate in initial intake for new admissions, and coordinate all hospital admissions and discharges
• Participate in annual surveys


JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a graduate from an accredited Nursing program and be licensed by the State of Louisiana as a registered nurse (RN). Minimum two years of nursing experience is required and experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is a plus. VOASCLA is looking for a Certified Medication Administration (CMA) instructor or candidate who is willing to be trained at the agencies expense.
