JOB SUMMARY:
The Partnerships in Child Care division of Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge provides information, support, and assistance to child care teachers and directors to improve the quality of their early childhood instruction and thus facilitate positive learning outcomes for children.  Partnerships in Child Care (PICC) also provides families with resources about child development and child care referrals. 

This position serves as the administrative assist for the program—greeting visitors and callers in a professional manner and directing them to and assisting them with the appropriate resources, and completing general office and administrative tasks required of the program. This position is also responsible for providing referrals to families in search of child care in our service areas and maintaining and supporting the PICC Resource Center.

 

JOB DUTIES:
Serve as receptionist and answers phones, route calls to the appropriate person; performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, faxing, copying, emailing, etc.; consult with families requesting child care services; retrieves and routes incoming and outgoing mail; collect demographical data from those served; collect and report data for tuition paid through LDOE; assist providers with setup of LDOE online CAFÉ system and Xenegrade training platform; review new family applications for the CCAP B-3 tuition program for eligibility, maintain office machines (such as copiers/printers, laminators, and die cuts); processing/ordering materials online; entering accounts payable and receivable; support new providers with becoming registered, CCAP certified, and/or licensed; review and maintain inventory of supplies, marketing materials, and donations received for office; log in-kind; order office and Resource Center supplies when needed; maintain Resource Center orderliness and log usage of the room.


REQUIREMENTS:
This position is located in our Baton Rouge, LA office. Applicant must possess a working knowledge of basic computer skills, knowledge of day to day office operations, and working knowledge of basic word processing and spreadsheets.
