Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana is hiring a Child First Mental Health and Development Clinician in Baton Rouge. MUST BE LICENSED (PLPC, CSW/LMSW)
The Mental Health and Developmental Clinician partners with a Care Coordinator to support families referred to Child First. The Clinician uses Child Parent Psychotherapy, a relationship-based, dyadic, parent-child treatment model, which focuses on the primary attachment relationships of the young child. Key responsibilities include; engaging with families in the collaborative assessment process, developing thoughtful, well-integrated clinical formulations and plans of care, providing home-based psychotherapeutic intervention with young children and their caregivers, support crisis situations by assisting families in times of urgent need, and engaging in weekly individual, team, and group reflective clinical supervision.
Job Requirements:
Licensed or provisionally licensed, master's level mental health provider (PLPC, CSW/LMSW)
Knowledge of relationship-based, psychodynamic intervention and early childhood development
Knowledge of effects of trauma and environmental risks on early childhood brain development
Experience providing intervention within diverse home and community settings preferred
Able to communicate well verbally and in writing
Comfortable with computers and experienced with Word and Excel
Reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance for home visits
