Description
Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge is looking for an energetic, self starter who will work under the direct supervision of the CEO to support our fundraising and membership programs. The Director oversees the Development office staff, solicits and acknowledges donations and maintains donor records. The director will manage the daily activities of the organization's development programs such as planning and implementing marketing programs and special events to maximize prospect/donor engagement; researches and writes for available grant opportunities, and insures that project/department milestones/goals are met. 

Some essential functions of the director position are:

• Oversee development office staff 
• Create and implement a fund development plan for the department
• Develop and provide oversight for development budget
• Research and write grant opportunities
• Coordinate RFP's and grant applications with management staff 
• Coordinate recordkeeping with accounting and program staff 
• Create and maintain relationships with foundations and other grantors 
• Create a marketing strategy for the agency
• Set strategy and oversee use of website and social media
• Keep current with national office branding strategy and logo use
• Manage content and oversee vendors for creative collateral such as publications (e-newsletter, ministry column, annual report, agency brochures, behavioral health marketing literature)

Education and experience needed:

• Bachelor’s degree
