We currently have openings in both our Residential and Supported Living Programs!!!
Part time (perfect for students in a social services field) and Full Time available!

Volunteers of America is an established, faith based social services organization in Baton Rouge that has been supporting and empowering people with disabilities since the early 1970's.
We are currently seeking compassionate & devoted Direct Support Professionals. Using a team approach, DSP's will provide assistance with all activities of daily living while working to enhance the quality of life, health, welfare and safety of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Our Residential program is comprised of 2 community homes which provide continuity of care in a family-like atmosphere to 15 men.
Our Supported Living program, through one-on-one or sometimes shared supports, is designed to allow individuals to live as independently as possible within their communities, with the assistance of Direct Support Professionals and natural supports.
The following positions are available in our Residential Program:
Full Time, Monday-Friday 2:00pm to 10:00pm
Part Time, Weekends only: 6:00am to 2:00pm OR 2:00pm to 10:00pm OR 10:00pm to 6:00am
The following positions are available in our Supported Living Program:
Monday-Friday 3:00pm to 8:00pm
Saturdays 9:00am to 3:00pm
Saturdays 10:00pm to 6:00am Sundays
Alternating day/evening/night shifts, including weekends, up to 40 hrs/wk (Plaquemine, LA)

Qualified candidates must:
- be compassionate and work well with others
- have a minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
- possess a high school diploma or GED
- have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
