JOB DESCRIPTION:
The SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery) Benefits Specialist must be able to work in the community and meet individuals experiencing homelessness where they are, including places not meant for human habitation. This position requires at least 1-3  years of experience working directly with individuals experiencing homelessness, and a willingness to work in non-traditional settings and unstructured environments; Job duties include, but are not limited to: working with referral sources and community partners to identify applicants through team meetings; completing outreach, interviews & referrals with individuals & maintaining training & certification as mandated by state. Candidates must be skilled in organization and time management. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of an Associates Degree or equivalent and experience with homeless population and/or individuals with disabilities required. Local travel, a valid driver's license & current vehicle insurance as well as a clear driving record are a must Candidates must be skilled in organization and time management. Certification in SOAR & experience working in HMIS database are preferred but not required.
