The ACT Substance Abuse Specialist counsels clients in individual and group sessions in the office and in the home and community settings to assist them in dealing with substance abuse issues and provides support  regarding the use and effects of alcohol and drugs and develops strategies to assist in quelling urges and teaches coping skills. The SA Specialist is also responsible for carrying out rehabilitation and support functions and assist in treatment, education, support and consultation to families and crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of licensed staff.
   
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must have a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or any other social service related field and at least one year work experience with co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use) or with substance abuse issues. CIT certification preferred. The individual must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and have a good working knowledge of community resources.  The individual must possess a Louisiana Driver's License.
