Description
Volunteers of America South Central Louisiana is seeking energetic, caring individuals to work in community home settings with adults with intellectual disabilities. Our homes are located in residential neighborhoods in Baton Rouge. Within each home, 24-hour supervision is provided by trained direct support staff in a family-like atmosphere. It is our commitment to assist the individuals we support in achieving independence by acquiring life skills, through health and safety education, and community integration. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for the people we serve.
We are currently looking for full and part time staff to fill ALL shifts, including daytime, evening & overnight, during the week and on weekends.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED and the ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required. Experience, either personally or professionally, serving individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred. Qualified candidates must have a valid driver's license & be willing to transport individuals, once trained, in large-capacity, agency vans. If not currently certified, all new hires must be willing to attend 60 hours of training (immediately and at the agency's expense) to become a Certified Medication Attendant.
