Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge is seeking an LMHP to serve as the Director of our Children's Services Programs. We serve children in a variety of ways. We have a 24 hour Therapeutic Group Home for abused, neglected or abandoned children that provides housing and treatment for up to 8 children from 3 to 13 years of age. We also have a Therapeutic Foster Care program that recruits and trains foster parents for placements for children in need of specialized foster family care. We also have a short term, intensive, in-home service program to families where it has been determined that the children are at risk of imminent removal because of an abusive or neglectful family environment.
We are searching for an administrator with at least 3 years of supervisory experience and the heart of a social worker to oversee and provide the guidance to nurture and grow these programs. 

Job Duties include considerable knowledge of:

•    Public program planning, development, budgeting and management. 
•    Community needs and resources. 
•    Grant development and administration. 
•    Principles and practices of effective supervision. 
•    Principles and practices of providing social services to culturally diverse populations. 
•    Federal, state and local funding sources. 
•    Software applications commonly used in program management. 
•    Skill in: 
•    Developing and expanding services and operations
•    Ability to: 
•    Interpret complex federal, state and local regulations and guidelines. 
•    Address the public and professional groups. 
•    Analyze administrative, personnel and organizational problems and identify appropriate solutions. 
•    Train and effectively manage staff persons. 
•    Prepare and maintain complex reports and records. 
•    Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public. 
•    Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Job Specifications:

Masters Degree in public/business administration, health, social work or a related field and three years of public program management experience, including at least three years of supervisory experience; or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
In addition to a degree the ideal candidate will be a licensed mental health professional having one of the following:
LMHP an individual who is currently licensed and in good standing in the state of Louisiana to practice within the scope of all applicable state laws, practice acts and the individual’s professional license, examples :
1.    Licensed clinical social worker (LCSW);
2.    Licensed professional counselor (LPC);
3.    Licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT);


Must possess a valid state driver’s license. 
This position is exempt from overtime.
