Description
Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge is searching for an Accountant II. The Accountant II will report to the Accounting Director and be the contract and grants billing specialist. This position will prepare monthly cost reimbursement or unit-of-service invoices in a timely fashion in accordance with grant budget and the allowable cost requirements of each grant. More specifically, the incumbent in this position will maintain financial records and ensure that transactions are properly recorded, understand the accounts receivable stream, review and assess claims, communicate with appropriate funding sources, identify and solve problems, meet productivity goals and work collaboratively with program directors when necessary. 

Competencies Needed:

Institutional Finance
 Knowledge of finance, financial methods, tools and strategies.
Financial Analysis
Ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
Accounting
Knowledge of the methods, processes, and tools for maintaining the books of the organization and preparing financial statements and reports.
Financial and Accounting Systems
Knowledge of financial and accounting applications specific to the organization.

Qualifications Needed:

Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
2 - 4 year of experience
Proven proficiency in Microsoft products with a heavy emphasis on Microsoft Excel
