Volunteers of America GBR, Inc. is searching for a person with skills and experience in the areas of payroll. Under the supervision of the controller, the ideal candidate will be experienced with the ADP payroll system. We are a mid size social service organization with almost 400 employees in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Lake Charles. This position requires a proven record of attention to detail and exemplary customer service skills. Please see the duties and qualifications needed below:

Job Duties will include:

• Manage and guarantee semi monthly disbursement of payroll, including garnishments, benefits and taxes
• Troubleshoot all payroll related employee issues
• Prepare regular relevant management reports 
• Insure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
• Support internal and external audits
• Interpret new legislation impacting payroll
• Other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
• Proficiency in relevant payroll and accounting software (ADP)
• High level of customer service skills
• Excellent problem analysis and problem resolution skills
• Excellent written and oral communications skills and proficiency in MS Office especially Excel 

This position is exempt from overtime.
